The size of the tiles is specified when the texture is loaded. Then tilenodes are created that store the coordinates of the tile's location on the map, the tileset id and the tile id specifies which piece of that tileset determine what the graphic for that particular node would be. So it's essentially like pasting a bunch of squares around the screen to make you level(TCOS Gold).


It allows for tiles of different sizes that are not required to be snapped to a grid of any kind. Transparency; and per-tile options, such as visibility, solid/not-solid, and so on. Also, a background for something like a classic space-shooter could be a single tilenode that takes up the whole map. It's pretty nifty because we could write a piece of code to read and write to a file the data that represents a map in TCOS, and when it comes time for drawing and such, the tilemanager helps automate everything.


We hope that better explains the purpose of the tilemanager. We hope for it to be quite useful for what we currently intend to do. We have decided to cut back on our original goal and first make a very simple 2D RPG and see how that goes. That should give us some more focus.

This is something about game design of TCOS. If you are a new, please read up. Ok, let's start.
       

You will even get looked at w/o a degree nowadays, unless you know someone, and even then sometimes they make you go to school while you work, so you can look certified. Game design is only for people who love programming, seriously, the programmers do not get paid much compared to the guys who just talk. Unless you work for some big name company like Bungie or something, do not expect game design to be the greatest job w/ good pay(The Chronicles of Spellborn Gold).


If you want money in the games industry, become PR for EA or Nintendo, those are the guys who get the money. And the publishers, go start a company and recruit some local talent, then when their game gets big, you get paid and then you give them whatever they need to continue to make more games and a little to help feed the kids, then you market it.


We are not trying to discourage you, but you really need to love programming and be very patient. If you want to make it in the games industry as a designer, you do not just graduate and get hired at EA or anything close, just ask all those grad students at our school, all they do now is make games for indie conventions and they teach underclassmen for money.

Viking-See Axe Man. Though they have less Magic Defense then Axe Man, they have more HP. You actually prefer them over Axe Man for front line destruction.

Swords Man-Best at Front Line Tanking. They can take the damage, and with a high Flame Sword Skill(Atlantica Gold) dish it out nicely to. They also have better HP then the other starting classes.

Spear Man-Best as a Middle Line melee DPS. Starts with Lightning Spear a very good skill as it's does damage and destroy some of the AP by the mobs hit with it. They work out very well on the front line early on, but later in game they just get beaten to death too easily for them to stay front line.

Axe Man-Best at Secondary Front Line Tanking and Dealing Destory an enemies front line. With their ability to use Frozen Axe and attack all 3 units on a line, you can see why you love them.

This is something about math class of TCOS. If you are a new, please read up. Ok, let's start.
       

What we supposed to be thinking about not making games(TCOS Gold). You do not go into a math class and expect not to solve math problems. To us it seems like you are okay with not having really made a game. If you are trying to go to school to become a doctor, you are definitely going to get the training for it because practicing a lot of that stuff outside of a school or a hospital is illegal.

 

There was this one school we were thinking about going to that was heavily arts based and provided internship for the field to. We decided not to go because it was $20K a year and we had to take a 45min bus ride to class everyday. It's too late now though. Well what we are supposed to be doing is makign a game on Scratch, but he has not even showed us how to use the program.
